A TRUE BLUE
STOCKING
What could be prettier than a
Christmas stocking turned out
in lovely pale blue velveteen?
This stocking takes on a mod
flair with a cuff of oh-so-soft
white fake fur and a tiny
sparkling star made from white
icy beads.
Here are some other ways to go blue this year.
^ Stick to the same intensity and tone of blue
for consistency. We used a pale blue-gray, but
you could try a rich midnight blue or a brilliant
royal blue.
^ Take the blue even further than fabrics and
a wreath. Wrap all your gifts in blue, white,
and silver. Spruce up the bathroom with white
towels custom-trimmed in silver and blue. Frost
all your greenery, even your tree.
^ Bring out old silver to go with the blue. Fill
silver bowls with blue or white glass balls. A
silver tray would look gorgeous displaying blue
glassware-just for show—or mounded with
pinecones coated with silver paint.
^ Add instant gleam with a can of chrome-
look spray paint. Give gone-shabby ornaments
a quick coat to coordinate with the tree. Turn a
basket into a silvery receptacle for gifts.
